Givenchy has finally announced a replacement for Riccardo Tisci, who left in January after 12 years as creative director. He will be replaced by Clare Waight Keller, the former creative director of Chloe. She will be the first female designer at Givenchy.
Keller’s feminine and bohemian aesthetic is the complete opposite of Tisci, whose designs were gothic, provocative, and street wear based.
“Hubert de Givenchy’s confident style has always been an inspiration, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this legendary house’s history,” said Waight Keller.
Her first collection will be shown at Paris Fashion Week in October.
