For Dior, there could be no location more fitting for their Couture Spring 2015 show than the Musée Rodin. The luxe legacy of the brand was reflected in the elaborate staging of the show, with a pristine white Dior box erected at the end of the marvelous backyard.
The octagonal setting gave a maze like feel, and was accented with an abundance of steel work . The venue was sectioned into two floors with several staircases and packed with fashion familiar faces, including Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld and Emmanuel Alt, among others. Celebrities, dressed in Dior head-to-toe, were seated together, and some unexpected attendees turned up to the show as well, one such example being the legendary designer Alaia.
The show started on the upper level, with models walking around and then descending the stairs. The collection featured lots of color, as well as many stripes, and graphic prints. Dresses were beautifully crafted with floral embellishments. Unconventional touches were added including a plastic cape coat, thrown on mini dresses which gave them a futuristic, edgy silhouette. Crystal beading was seen throughout the show, and towards the end, big gown numbers walked down the catwalk.
Raf Simons seems to have found his home at Dior, and we look forward to seeing what the extraordinarily talented designer has in store for us in his next collection.
