Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab showcased his pre-fall 2017 collection this past week in New York. The collection was full of late 80s accents with exaggerated shoulders, wide leg pants, although the high necklines hinted Victoriana. The lineup was focused on daywear and cocktail looks. We noticed a lot of velvet, which is one of the main trends for fall '17. One of the eye catching pieces was the black velvet hoodie decorated with crystal embroidery or the green velvet pantsuit. Shoulders were exaggerated on mini black dresses with belts cinched at the waist, some came in golden heart charms. Saab used heart shapes both on dresses and accessories. There was a range of tulle, lace and embellished dresses. All looks were paired with sheer dotted tights and platform heels. The color palette was ranging from emerald green, baby blues to all black.
A standout was the green full skirted gown with floral leather appliqués.
