FIVE MODELS YOU SHOULD KNOW

If you don't know their names yet, you definitely know their faces!

Lineisy Montero

This 20 year old Dominican Republic native has been a stand out on the runway since her debut at Prada two years ago. In a sea of pale, ponytailed mannequins, Montero’s natural, short hair makes her instantly recognizable, and the young model is proud to represent her race and her heritage in the fashion industry. She is now a staple on every major catwalk from New York to Paris, appearing in no less than 61 shows for the Autumn/Winter ’16 season, and has fronted campaigns for brands such as Chanel and Givenchy. Her natural beauty and infectious smile has had a far reaching impact on an industry that is constantly criticized for it’s lack of diversity, paving the way for acceptance and inclusivity for generations to come.

Lexi Boling

The fashion industry loves a bad girl, and no one has been serving attitude for the past few seasons like Midwesterner Lexi Boling. Since making her debut at the Spring/Summer ’14 Alexander Wang show, Boling has become known as much for her icy glare on the runway to the BAD tattoo across her ribcage, as well as her globe trotting Instagram page filled with unapologetic cigarettes and late night parties, a welcome reprieve to the carefully curated, Hollywood friendly image of other successful models. The 22 year old is the face of Prada Candy and her chameleon looks have allowed her to walk the runway for everyone from moody Alexander McQueen to classic Chanel and the pastel perkiness of Diane Von Furstenberg. She feels most at home, however, in the downtown company of close friend Alexander Wang, who sites her as a muse.

Molly Bair

Since being discovered at a flea market in New York City, this Philadelphia teen has sent ripples through the fashion industry for her unconventional look and childish pout. A week after being scouted, she first appeared on the runway for Proenza Schouler's Spring ’15 show, and since then has joined the elite ranks of top models chosen to close a Chanel show as the storied Bride, as well appearing in campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Prada and Alexander Wang. The 6 foot tall self described tomboy has learned to fully embrace her unique features, which earned her nicknames such as “alien” and “praying mantis” growing up, but no one loves an unconventional face as much as the fashion industry, to which she has been described as “modern” and “from another time”.

Binx Walton

Tennessee native Leona Anastasia Walton, better known as “Binx” might also currently be known for having worn the fashion industry’s most famous nipple pasty at Anthony Vaccarello’s debut collection for Saint Laurent this past season. Walton walked the runway in a strapless leather dress with one breast exposed save for a Swarovski crystal encrusted nipple cover, an image that easily dominated the Paris fashion week news. Walton made her runway debut at only 16 years old for Marc Jacobs’ Autumn/Winter ’13 show, but was catapulted into fashion awareness when she was cast opposite Daria Werbowy in Celine’s Spring/Summer ’14 ad campaign. Her androgynous look, complete with short hair and edgy attitude have made her a favorite with brands such as Chanel, Balmain and Coach.

Mica Arganaraz

It has been proven time and time again the power that a signature head of hair can have for a model, and the same can be said for model Mica Arganaraz. Born in Argentina, Arganaraz’s tousled brown curls and bangs have made her stand out of the runway for her wild, unruly look, complete with insanely high cheekbones and olive complexion. Although Spring/Summer ’15 was her first major season, since then Arganaraz has appeared for Tom Ford, Dior, Miu Miu and the list goes on. She has also scored a solo Prada ad campaign shot by Steven Meisel.
