In breaking news, Riccardo Tisci has officially confirmed his exit from Givenchy, following twelve loyal years as the brand’s Creative Director. Tisci is reported to have left Givenchy on January 31, as his contract came to an end. Following this departure, Givenchy has collectively decided not to hold a runway show during Paris Fashion Week this month.
Namely credited with resurrecting the brand under his direction, Tisci delivered edge and eccentricity, while sewing sensual and subversive collections into the newly recognized and refreshed DNA of Givenchy. Tisci’s final collections with the brand were his Fall/Winter 2017 men’s collection and his Fall 2017 couture collection staged in Paris, a nod to his success in also revitalizing the house’s couture business under his reign. His twelve remarkable years with the house signified the execution of an incomparable vision Riccardo Tisci held for the house of Givenchy.
Upon exiting, Tisci spoke in gratitude, “I have a very special affection for the house of Givenchy and its beautiful teams. I want to thank the LVMH group and Monsieur Bernard Arnault for giving me the platform to express my creativity over the years. I now wish to focus on my personal interests and passions.”
