WALKING THE WILD CITY

The future of clothes is practicality, and the best expression of it is sportswear. Pierpaolo Piccioli knows that, and he proved that he wants to target his vision of the brand to a new audience, younger and more interested in a comfortable-chic daywear.

After the resort collection in the big apple, where he showcased a feminine sportive concept, he decided to bring the same intention to the menswear, thinking about the best union for a functional wardrobe staying elegant and comfortable at the same time.

The collection was a modern vision of a young city explorer who wants to travel with the minimum essential but in the maximum style. Pastel colours are used with patchworks to create eye-catching irregularity; tribal motifs are the essence of different accessories, from shoes to chokers, to charms hanged on trousers, challenging strongly the idea of a young multicultural traveller. Sportswear is perfectly alternated with casual wear creating a winning match that gave birth to this concept of a city explorer new to the brand.

There was also a feeling of willing to be recognised in this collection. The cultural motifs in antithesis with basic clothes and the abbreviation of the brand logo in ‘VLNT’ printed on clothes strengthen this sense of personal identification in a multicultural world. As Piccioli himself said before the resort collection the past May, fashion still has some problem to solve about harmony and diversity related to models, and his desire to show his willing in finding this harmony in the difference is visible with this collection.
